Meet our Staff

Our strength coaches come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to offer our customers the most up-to-date programs today. To ensure the highest quality in our programs, all of our strength coaches are Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) through the NSCA.

 
 

Mark Van Leuven - PT, CSCS

Mark currently designs and oversees the administration of all the training programs for Athletic Dynamics and is one of the co-founders of the company. Mark is a graduate of SUNY Upstate Medical Center at Syracuse, earning a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (1995). He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA since 1999. He is a part time therapist with Physical Therapy Associates, Troy Office. Mark has over 9 years experience in orthopedics, sports medicine rehabilitation, and sports training. He has worked with the Albany Firebirds, Albany River Rats, and many local high school and college athletes. His athletic background includes playing as an all-conference varsity soccer player and a varsity basketball player at SUNY Potsdam. Mark was also an Academic All-American for both sports. Mark was also the head women's soccer coach at Russell Sage College from 1999 - 2001. He has great enthusiasm for teaching athletes the most efficient and effective ways to train.

Capital District

Gina Mastrianni - PT, CSCS

Gina earned her Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in 2000 and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since May of 2003. Gina's knowledge and experience in evaluating, rehabilitating, and training athletes puts her in the top of her field. Gina was a state and national qualifier for Colonie High School in cross country and outdoor track and brings an excellent overall athletic knowledge to her work with today's athlete. She is also currently employed by Columbia Physical Therapy in East Greenbush, NY. Gina's enthusiasm, energy, knowledge, and skills make her a fantastic strength coach for Athletic Dynamics.

Eric Kelly - PT, CSCS

Eric earned his Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2003. While at Springfield College, Eric captained the Men's Varisity Cross Country and Track and Field teams, was honored as a member of the New England All Regional Team for cross country in 2000, and was an Academic All-American for four straight years. Eric also has completed the 2002 Hartford Marathon (50th place) and the 2003 Boston Marathon and is currently training for the 2004 Boston Marathon. Eric brings a strong knowledge of running, baseball, football, basketball, golf, and soccer to his position with Athletic Dynamics. One of Eric's physical therapy internships was in Birmingham Alabama, where he was able to learn from Dr. James Andrews, the renowned orthopedic surgeon who has worked with multiple professional athletes across the nation. Eric is also currently employed by Columbia Physical Therapy in East Greenbush, NY.

AMANDA POLLOCK - CSCS

Amanda is in her third year as a full time Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Amanda designs and implements training programs for women's lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, women’s and men’s swimming and diving, cross country and track & field. She also serves as the Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at RPI.

Amanda earned her Bachelors Degree in Sports Marketing from Clemson University in 2002. Amanda will be sitting for his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam in October of 2004. While at Clemson University, Amanda was a member of the Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams, a member of the Atlantic Coastal Conference Championship Team for Track and Field in 1998, and was honored as an Academic All-ACC. She is an avid runner and loves to compete in Marathons.

Jill Guarino – ATC

Jill earned her Master’s degree in Education/Biomechanics from the University of Connecticut in 2001 and her Bachelors degree in Biology/Sports Medicine from North Adams State College in 1997. While at North Adams, Jill was a captain for the Varsity Softball team for 2 years and was honored as an All-American and Female Athlete of the Year in 1996, as well as being named to the All New England and All Academic Team for three years in a row.

She has been a Certified Athletic Trainer with the National Athletic Training Association since 2001. Jill has over 4 years of experience in sports medicine rehabilitation, orthopedics, biomechanical analysis, and sport specific functional training. She was formerly one of the Assistant Athletic Trainers for Siena College. Her other professional experiences include athletic training positions at High Performance Sports, Inc. (Peabody, MA), and various high schools in the Boston, MA area. Jill has worked with orthopedic surgeons and their case loads, as well as athletes from the high school to semi-professional level.

Jill’s experience, knowledge and determination for excellence make her a strong addition to the Athletic Dynamics staff. When Jill is not educating and training athletes she is spending time with her lovely family.

CJ Damrocia - ATC, CSCS

CJ earned his Bachelors degree in Physical Education with concentrations in both, Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology. He earned his National Athletic Training Association certification in 2002 and his NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification in 2003.

His experience includes an internship with the Buffalo Bills where he did a substantial amount of work with core training and stretching. CJ has over 3 years of experience in many settings including; outpatient physical therapy clinic, youth sports performance clinic, and other high schools and colleges. He is currently on the athletic training staff at Union College, working with all sports teams. CJ’s passion for sports and broad experience make him an excellent part of our team.

Kristin Seaburg – ATC

Kristin is a graduate of Russell Sage College with a double major in Athletic Training and Spanish. She spent a semester in Spain where she was an intern at an orthopedic sports medicine clinic that worked with a professional soccer, or “futbol,” team. Kristin is a volleyball player and is currently pursuing a Masters in Physical Therapy.

She attained her National Athletic Training Association certification in April of 2005 and has been working as a strength coach and ATC at Emma Willard School for the past year. Kristin brings great enthusiasm and is a tremendous addition to our team. She has a great rapport with young athletes and enjoys educating them in the latest strength and conditioning advances. Most of Kristen’s free time is spent studying for Physical Therapy school.

Western New York (Rochester, Buffalo)

Bruce Hedlund - CSCS

Bruce attended SUNY Cortland and earned a bachelors degree in Exercise Science. While attending Cortland Bruce played football and was named co-captain his senior year. Bruce has earned certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Additionally, he holds a health/fitness instructor certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. Bruce spent 5 years working at Xerox Recreation Association. There he performed fitness assessments, designed exercise programs and instructed several exercises classes. Most recently, Bruce was employed by Boston College. At Boston College, Bruce trained several varsity athletic teams, designed exercise programs for students and faculty and worked with area high school athletes.

Bruce's additional work experience includes working with the Rochester Junior Rhino's, Irondequoit Varsity Hockey Team, area high school athletes and the newly formed Rochester Reign professional soccer team. Bruce enjoys working with athletes and has experience training fencing, swimming, golf, basketball, football, soccer, endurance athletes and recreational athletes.

Bruce enjoys watching movies, traveling, all outdoor activities and running. Bruce enjoys running races and has run in seven marathons including the past 4 Boston Marathon's. Besides participating in marathons, Bruce has finished several triathlons.

Frank Lupiani - Regional Director

Frank has over 30 years experience coaching sports involving young athletes and training them on enhancing sport specific movements. Frank’s passion for educating and his unique understanding of how young athletes develop both mentally and physically, enable him to motivate them to train at a higher level to take their game to the next level.

Frank’s certifications include; Certified Junior Athletes Training Specialist through Tudor Bompa Training Systems, Certified Children's Physical Fitness Specialist through American Fitness Professionals Association. Frank is also a Certified Renegade Training Specialist through John Davies Renegade System. He is a Youth Speed Development Coach, utilizing proven training methods of the worlds leading sport specific speed experts covering a variety of sports.

Frank also maintains his own fitness at a level that allows him to train and compete with athletes half his age, displaying the benefits of instilling life long fitness habits from a young age. When Frank is not working with young athletes he is spending time with his kids.
